Genesis SRC (Sample Return Capsule)

This was my first flight mission for JPL in the late 1990’s. I was responsible for all of the piece part fabrication for the capsule. One of the challenging factors was the capsule needed to have a hermetically sealed cover to protect and return the collected particulates from the suns solar winds that embedded on the silicon wafers. This was accomplished through a lock-ring mechanism, that after the samples were collected would be sealed for a safe journey back to earth.
